Sadie can reach into your mind to discover anything she chooses, change a memory, and much more. She swore long ago she would never again use her abilities to control or exploit another being. She doesn’t know why she has power over the mind, but those who discover her abilities flee from her. People fear what they don’t understand, so she hides her powers.
Billie can hear a conversation two blocks away and smell the neighbor's gardenias on your shoes. She notices everything in her surroundings and has physical strength and speed far surpassing any Human’s. Beta of the local Wolf Pack and the second most powerful Wolf in the Pacific Northwest, she approaches life with confidence and pride.
An unusual and passionate connection sparks, and they quickly discover neither is an ordinary woman. Still they hide their full nature from each other. Sadie lies for fear of rejection. Billie conceals the truth to keep a promise. In the dead of night, in fear for their lives, they must expose their secrets or die.
What could be more disturbing than discovering your girlfriend is a werewolf? Finding out you're even more fearsome ... and her Pack's sworn enemy. “Mages cannot be trusted.”
This book contains descriptions of lesbian sex. If you're under 18 years old or you object for any reason, then this isn't the book for you. Otherwise, enjoy!

Most urban fantasies contain a romantic element, that's part of the entertainment. This series stands out above the crowd, by having a central relationship that is built on caring, mutual respect, communication, sharing, and love. I've gotten very tired of other books where the central protagonist is a femme fatale simpering to a testosterone poisoned, abusive jerk. The central couple is a minor variant on the usual mind-power and werewolf couple. However, I've never seen this exact combination. Sadie is a "mage", in this interpretation essentially a telepath, from reading thoughts up to the ability to permanently alter a victim's mind to enslave them. Sadie is a rare "good mage" who refuses to do that. Billie is a "wolf", ie werewolf. Mages often mentally enslave ("collar") wolves as bodyguards, enforcers, etc. Wolves hate this, and kill any mage they can find. This creates the friction central to the story. Unfortunately, this theme gets repeated a little too often. As a nice variation on the genre, the world does not contain vampires.
The story does fall into the cliche of making the central characters too powerful. Sadie is "the most powerful mage in the world". Billie is the best wolf fighter in the pacific northwest, and possibly the world. It would be better if they had more room to grow during the series.
The dialogue is entertaining, filled with everything from sympathetic sharing, lighthearted banter, serious discussions, to significant arguments. All are presented well, with the right emotional tones.
The viewpoint is mostly from Sadie's perspective, but you also occasionally get insights into Billie's and a few others' thoughts.
The sex scenes show a natural variation between consensual aggression and tenderness. At one point, they discuss STIs (a very good example in literature often targeted at young adults). In contrast, many other urban fantasy books seem like BDSM and obsession bordering on abuse.
I am subtracting one star, primarily due to the poor proofreading. There are too many homophones (ie "there" instead of "their"), grammar, and punctuation errors. They're distracting. Spellcheck is not sufficient as proofreading.

Psyche Moon edition by Chrissie Buhr Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I purchased all three books due to reviews. Not that impressed. Will read the rest because I purchased them. I am just not a huge fan, and I LOVE Werewolf books.
Great books and great series. Interesting romance that actually make sense and develops. While the romance is between two gay women, they don't make a huge deal out of it. Properly feels like two people who are interested in each other who both happen to share a gender. It doesn't ignore it, but it doesn't make it seem weird.
Probably the best lesbian-themed/lesbian written book I have read in a long time. Well written, well plotted. Her care with the characters feelings and setting of the scenery took me back to lesbian author greats suck as Katherine V Forrest and Karin Kallmaker. The fact that it was also a fast-paced paranormal/sci fi theme was just icing on the cake! The only down-side was that it felt like it lost a lot of it's depth towards the very end; maybe the author was just ready to get the story wrapped up and done. Other than that, though, a great read!
I loved this story. I finished it and immediately bought and started reading the next in the series--Psyche Honor. Psyche Moon offers more character development, excitement, and mystery than sex. Wasn't so sure I'd be interested in a book about lesbian lovers and soon found out that just like in real life--what came through was the caring and devotion the characters shared with one another and Chrissie Buhr can tell a fascinating story. She has an awesome imagination.
Sometimes when a couple meet for the first time everything clicks into place. It worked like that for Sadie and Billie. But that wasn't the end of the story. You are going to love watching all the relationships develop in this novel and you'll spend time perched on the edge of your chair waiting to see what happens next.
This is a really good read--not 5 stars because it needs a good editor to clean up a few things.
Most people don't know there are paranormals walking amongst them, they think that is all just fairy tales. They don't realise that werewolves are very real and there are people that like to take control of them and use them to their advantage. Well meet Sadie and Billie.
Sadie can read people's thoughts and sense peoples feelings. She can also change people's thoughts. But when people find out about her they freak out. Her last relationship failed because she found out Sadie had these powers. The truth is that Sadie doesn't even fully understand her powers and how extensive they are.
Billie has the ability to listen to a conversations out in the yard and can smell what you had for breakfast two days ago. She is very confident and is a natural born leader. She also knows how to throw her strength around and has the ability to hold back just about any opponent.
By some pure chance Sadie and Billie find each other at a nightclub one night and the connection is instantaneous. Whilst both of them know that the other is no ordinary woman they can't quite work out what it is about the other that draws them in so powerfully. With both of them having secrets to hide they peruse a relationship just hoping that the other doesn't discover their deepest secrets.
All the secrecy comes to an end tho and everyone learns that Sadie is much more than even she realised she was. This causes a lot of trouble for Sadie and Billie's relationship and also causes Billie's family to completely mistrust Sadie. But when the elder of Billies family asks Sadie to use her powers to help the family and hide it all from her lover Sadie sees this as a way hopefully win back the trust of Billie's family.
I did find that the book was a little hard to follow in the beginning and because I read it quite some time after downloading and couldn't remember exactly what it was about so it took me a while to get into the story but I still thoroughly enjoyed it.
